The Will-Mc Building is a 16,000 SF, $2 million facility designed primarily for McMahon and Associates, an accounting firm located in Munster, Indiana. Besides housing over 10,000 SF of finished office, the Will-Mc Building also contains 6,000 SF of space for future tenants.
In terms of design, the Will-Mc Building utilizes a double cruciform layout that allows the massiveness of the building to be broken up by two gabled ends on both the east and west sides. This layout helps to soften the impact of the Will-Mc Building next to its neighbors as well as giving the building a more “human” scale. Another key point regarding the Will-Mc Building is that every side of the building is in public view. In fact, the rear of the building faces Calumet Avenue, a main thoroughfare in Munster. Because of this, thoughtful attention was placed on every view of the finished building. For our efforts, the Will-Mc Building was awarded the Munster Chamber of Commerce Project of the Year for 2009.
